Pure Lily Softener Brushes
Pure Lily Softener Brushes
A pure lily bristle softener brush for blending and refining glazes, paint effects, and decorative finishes. The soft, fine bristles barely touch the surface, removing brushmarks and softening transitions without lifting colour. A more affordable alternative to badger hair while still giving a professional softened finish.

How to use
Used as the finishing step in decorative painting. After applying glaze and working it with a dragger, flogger, or graining tool, hold the softener at right angles to the surface and lightly flick the bristle tips across the wet glaze. The hair just kisses the surface - enough to blend marks and soften edges, not enough to disturb the underlying pattern.
Common uses:
- Marbling - fading veins into the background
- Wood graining - softening dragged or flogged lines
- Glazed walls - removing brushmarks for a smooth hand-finish
- Chalk and mineral paint work - refining brush textures on furniture
The 2" suits detail and small areas; the 4" covers walls and larger panels.
Care
Wash gently in cool soapy water (water-based glazes) or white spirit followed by soap (oil-based). Reshape with your fingers and hang to dry by the handle hole. Never stand on the bristles. Some natural shedding is normal in the first few uses.
Note
Lily bristle is a quality alternative to badger hair - softer than standard hog bristle but more affordable than pure badger. Suited to most decorative work where a budget badger isn't justified.
