Traditional lime mortar for heritage and conservation projects

Lime Mortar

We produce a comprehensive range of ready-mixed lime bedding and pointing mortars, alongside hair and fibre-reinforced basecoat plasters, fine finish plasters and external renders, all prepared using our matured chalk lime putty. Many mortars are designed to match existing fabric or to meet specific client or architect requirements, with sensitivity to regional, geological and historic variation. Specialist formulations, including roughcasts, cob and brick and stone repair mortars, are also produced.

Non-hydraulic lime putty mortars and plasters are soft, porous and permeable, making them particularly appropriate for the repair of traditional buildings. Where greater durability is a concern, because of site exposure for example, pozzolanic materials may be introduced immediately before use. Oak and chestnut riven and sawn laths are stocked alongside stainless steel laths and wood wool board.
