Lime putties and binders for traditional building and conservation by Rose of Jericho

Lime & Binders

Quicklime sourced from Lincolnshire chalk is carefully slaked to produce both superfine and mortar-grade cream coloured chalk lime putties, while pure white superfine putty is derived from calcined Carboniferous limestone from Derbyshire.

Proper maturation of lime putty is crucial to workability and long term performance. Our lime putties are stored in an environment that allows natural evaporation and drainage, and are not placed in tubs or used in mortars, plasters and renders until matured for a minimum of six months, ensuring optimal workability and durability.

We also supply St Astier Natural Hydraulic Limes, Prompt Natural Cement, and quicklime for hot-mix applications, supporting both traditional practice and informed contemporary use.
