Permeable Matt emulsion is a high quality non-vinyl emulsion paint especially formulated for opacity and permeability. Artist quality earth and traditional powder pigments provide matchless purity and quality of colour with subtle variations of colour and tone. A permeable paint suitable for use in older buildings, but less permeable than limewash or distemper.

Contains no added lead. Water-based. Actual VOC content <5g>

To be used for the decoration of walls and ceilings. For interior use only. Porous surfaces may need priming with a diluted mist-coat of permeable emulsion normally thinned with 10% water prior to the application of further full coats. Permeable Matt Emulsion is not as wipeable as modern vinyl emulsion paints.

Matt, chalky finish with subtle variations in colour and tone. All Rose of Jericho paints are made using powder pigments. Colour and tone variations due to these pigments and differing porosity of surfaces are inevitable. The intention is that our emulsion paints possess some of the lack of uniformity and charm of a traditional limewash or distemper paint finish.

Do not apply in temperatures below 5C and avoid using during periods of high humidity. Do not use on surfaces previously painted with oil-based paints, limewashes or distempers.

All surfaces should be sound, clean, dry, and free from dirt, oil, grease or other contamination. Permeable Matt Emulsion can be applied to lining paper and previously emulsion painted surfaces. Newly plastered surfaces should be dry prior to application. Porous surfaces should be primed with a mist coat of paint diluted with up to 10% water. Any algae or mould must be treated with a fungicide and making good and filling should be carried out with a material appropriate to the substrate It is recommended that a trial is carried out to ensure that the surface is suitable for application.

Stir well before use. Permeable Matt Emulsion is best applied by brush. Two full coats recommended. Thinning should not be necessary for primed or previously painted surfaces. Very porous surfaces may benefit from a light mist-spraying immediately prior to application. Only if absolutely necessary dilute by no more than 10% water and whisk thoroughly. Brushes and equipment should be cleaned with warm, soapy water immediately after use.
