Please be aware that natural animal fibres will degrade in strongly alkaline environments such as lime plasters or renders.

Horse hair, fine white goat hair and sisal plant fibre are stocked for the reinforcement of plasters and renders.  We also stock synthetic reinforcing fibres. Observations

Natural animal hair degrades when in strongly alkaline environments such as lime plasters/mortars. We strongly advise the site addition of natural hair to reduce the risk of degradation if pre-mixed mortars are left standing in a wet state. It is advisable to batch only enough haired mix for immediate use.
