Exterior Emulsion
High quality smooth exterior quality emulsion paint for exterior use only. Artist quality earth and traditional powder pigments provide matchless purity and quality of colour with subtle variations of colour and tone. It is a paint with low permeability, and it is therefore not normally appropriate for the decoration of traditional buildings with solid walls that need to breathe.

Usage/Purpose
To be used for the exterior decoration of dry cement renders, pebble-dash and modern building materials. Porous surfaces may need priming with a stabilising solution or a coat of exterior emulsion thinned with up to 15% clean water prior to the application of further coats.
Coverage
12-14 m2/litre/coat on smooth surfaces. 4-8 m2/ litre/coat on textured surfaces of low porosity.
Finish
Matt finish with subtle variations in colour and tone. All Rose of Jericho paints are made using powder pigments. Colour and tone variations due to these pigments and differing porosity of surfaces are inevitable. The intention is that our Exterior Emulsion paint possesses some of the lack of uniformity and charm of a traditional limewash finish.
Preparation
All surfaces should be sound, clean, dry, and free from loose or defective paint, dirt, or other contamination. Porous surfaces should be primed with a coat of exterior emulsion diluted with up to 15% clean water. A stabilising solution may be necessary. Any mould, algae or moss must be treated with a fungicidal wash and making good and filling should be carried out with a material appropriate to the substrate. It is recommended that a trial be carried out to ensure that the surface is suitable for application.
Application
Stir well before use. Apply by brush, roller, or spray. Final coat best applied by masonry brush. Two full coats normally recommended. Thinning is not normally necessary for primed or previously painted surfaces. Approx. Coverage. 12-14 m2/ litre/ coat on smooth surface of low porosity. 4-6 m2/ litre/ coat on textured surfaces of low porosity. Brushes and equipment should be cleaned with warm, soapy water immediately after use.
