Environmentally friendly product made with natural sustainable ingredients. It contains no VOCs, no petrochemical based ingredients, and no lead. Water-based. All Rose of Jericho paints comply with the latest environmental legislation.
For interior use only. To be used for the decoration of walls and ceilings. This product enables much darker colours to be achieved than can be supplied in distemper, with a less uniform finish and significant variation of colour and tone. Casein Binding Medium is often applied over a Casein Distemper ground-coat. Casein Binding Medium applied to appropriate surfaces will not readily rub-off on clothes. It are not as wipeable as modern vinyl emulsion paints.

Limited. Un-opened cans have approx. 6 month shelf life when stored in a cool environment. Protect from frost.

Natural earth powder pigments are supplied separately for site addition. Guidance is available.
Composition: Lactic acid casein. Solvent: Water. Casein binding medium contains an in-can preservative and a dry-film protective biocide. Non-flammable. Performance Drying: In good drying conditions. Touch dry in 4 hours. Allow 12 hours between coats.
Ensure Binding Medium is within shelf-life period. All surfaces must be sound, dry, and free from dirt, oil, grease or other contamination. Previously distempered surfaces should be washed to remove all powdery material. Any fungus or mould must be treated with a fungicide and making good and filling should be carried out with a material appropriate to the substrate. Sample trials with pigments added must be carried well in advance to ensure that the surface is suitable for application, and the desired appearance achieved.
Method: The pigmented Binding Medium can be applied using various tools – brush, sponge, comb, rag, drag, or specialist roller in order to achieve the desired appearance and finish. Cannot be spray applied. Thinning: Casein Binding Medium Concentrate is to be thinned to the desired consistency with clean water. Dilution rates vary but one litre of Concentrate will produce between 3 or 5 litres of pigmented colourwash. Brushes and equipment should be cleaned with warm, soapy water immediately after use. Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C or above 25°C. DO NOT use on surfaces previously painted with oil-based paints.
